The ETH ZWICKY
PRIZE FELLOWSHIP Program supports outstanding postdoctoral scientists
in any
area of astrophysics and cosmology. The research field of the Zwicky
Fellows
may be either theoretical or observational. The Zwicky Fellows are
expected to
carry out independent research and to contribute to the intellectual
life of
the institute and department.
The
Zwicky Fellowships have a research fund of CHF 15'000 (about USD
14'500) per year (excluding computer resources, which include
guaranteed access to a large fast-connection Beowulf cluster).
The program is open to
applicants of any nationality who have earned (or will have earned)
their
doctoral degrees usually within four years from the deadline of the
application. The
duration of the fellowship is generally three years; extensions above
the three-year appointment, up to a
maximum of six years, are also possible.
A copy of the
Announcement of Opportunity which is posted on the AAS Job
Register in October-November is available at http://www.exp-astro.phys.ethz.ch/zwicky.html.
For the 2010 awards,
the deadline for both applications and letters of reference is Tuesday,
December 1, 2009. Offers will be made before February 15, 2010, and new
appointments are expected to begin on (or about) October 1, 2010.

Zwicky Fellowship Program may be directed to Prof. Simon Lilly
