My current research project includes the formation, structure and morphology of z ~ 4 galaxies selected using a b-dropout technique.
I am working under the supervision of Professor M. Carollo and
Pascal Oesch.
Using images from the Wide Field Camera 3 (WFC3) on
the Hubble Space Telescope, we examine the distribution of star formation histories in
z ~ 4 galaxies which help us to understand and improve the star and
galaxy formation models in this time epoch.
To achieve this, we create color maps of different bands (as v-H
or i-J) and examine the radial distributions of the
colors in each galaxy.
We are implementing a method to determine the mass, dust E(B-V) and age of a galaxy or a specific region using directly the color maps.
