Script In 2005, the
VMP produced a nice copy of my lecture notes. They may be found here. I also expect to provide an
updated script here, together with occasional other material of interest.
Recommended
Books The most
useful is Purcell. The treatment of the course follows this closely in
content and style: Purcell,
Edward: Electricity and Magnetism. McGraw-Hill
Science/Engineering/Math; 2 edition (August 1, 1984); ISBN: 0070049084 German
edition: Elektrizität und Magnetismus
Verlag, ISBN: 3528383526 The English
version may be very expensive. I believe a cheaper copy may be obtained
from India. Other books
that may be of interest: Jackson,
John David: Classical Electrodynamics. Wiley; 3
edition (July 27, 1998); ISBN: 047130932X German
edition: Klassische Elektrodynamik.
Gruyter, ISBN: 3110189704 Känzig, Werner: Elektrizität und Magnetismus. vdf Hochschulverlag AG; 5., durchgesehene Auflage 1995;
